Java Moss

Scientific Name: Vesicularia dubyana

Range: Southeast Asia, Java

Ease Of Keeping: Very Easy

Lighting: Dim To Bright

Aquarium Requirements: Another extremely easy to keep and useful aquatic plant. Java Moss is a deep green, tiny leafed aquatic moss. It is very useful as a ground cover or as an adornment to rocks and driftwood. It can be used in a spawning tank to provide a place to lay eggs and also as a source of microorganisms for the fry to eat.

This plant can easily be propagated by tearing the moss clumps apart and just anchoring or attaching them temporarily to just about any surface where it will soon adhere. PH and water hardness seem of little importance to this plant. Temperatures of 20-30C (68-85F) are tolerated.
